  • Anil Kumar,

It’s a good idea to have a small meal with some easy digesting protein and carbohydrates about 1 hour before you workout. Something light and simple like a protein shake and a piece of fruit would be ideal as it will give you energy for your workout, but not sit heavy on your stomach.

Dear Lee im comming to you for help and realy hope u can give me advice .i have a 11y old son that walks with walkingaid he had a very big opperasion to rotate his legs as it sould be we do go to physio every week but the Dr sais he needs.to get mucels in his legs to make them strong enough to carry his body (he is not fat at all)he has very skinny legs if u dont mind could you send me an email with your advice please and thank u Louise from south africa

    • I would love to be able to help your son, but without being able to work with him one on one it would be hard for me to access his condition and know what exercises would be the most suitable for him. The best thing to do in this situation is to visit a good physiotherapist who can personally design a leg workout routine for him. It should only take a few one on one sessions to learn the exercises and then you should be able to continue on doing them on your own at home.

    Lee,

I watched your videos from time to time and you put out good information. I never knew you had your own app before. I download this, does it track your workouts similar to one on bodybuilding.com?

    • The TFB app is mainly for providing you with training and nutrition programs, exercise instructional demos, and there is an “Ask Lee” section in the app where you can chat with me directly and get answers to your questions. There is a workout tracker portion of the app where you can record your workouts, but it’s pretty basic compared to specific workout tracker apps.

    Hey Lee,

Long time follower. Can you please settle something once and for all. Myself and some other guys in the gym always find ourselves arguing over cardio. Specifically when is the best time to do it. So my questio is…Do cardio before weight training , after, or does it matter? I do it after because i feel that your body is in a higher metabolic state and therefore will be more effective at fat burning.

    Thanks Lee,

    Keep the good stuff coming.

    • You can do cardio at any time and still get results from it. But ideally you should do a short cardio workout before lifting weights as a general warm up. Then do your weight training workout. And afterwards you can do a longer cardio session to help with fat loss.

Hello Lee, i’m a very tall guy (6’2) and very skinny . I’m from Nigeria. Please do i need a long-time workout or Intense short-time workout?

      (Quote)  (Reply)

    • Most guys tend to respond better to shorter more intense workout programs, rather than long “marathon workouts”. I’d recommend that you start with the 3 day bodybuilding split routine that’s posted under the workouts section of the Total Fitness Bodybuilding App.

    Hey Lee,
I’m having difficulty training my rear deltoids directly,
It seems no matter which technique I use I never see my rear delts contracting when performing rear delt flies or any pulling movement.
I’ve been doing rear delt flies with dumbbells for about 3 years now with low weight, high reps, 2 – 3 sets a couple times per week yet my rear delts are completely non-existent.
It would very much appreciated it if you could make a video on the best ways to target the rear delts effectively and to keep shoulders healthy longterm.
Thanks very much for all your videos, they’ve helped me a bunch!
    Kind regards,
    George.

    leehayward,

No you dont need to eat before a workout, thats a myth! Thats a good idea if you lift hard 6 days a week and are a real 290lbs body builder. I workout in fasted state to burn more calories and I have never noticed a better session with food in my belly

Is this a one time payment for the app or is a monthly reacurring payment?

      (Quote)  (Reply)

    • This is a one time payment of $2 for the app. I think you’ll find it to be money very well spent because there is a lot of value and content within the app and all the future updates and additions are included for free.

Hey Lee, I have some questions about your sponsor program.
I am 77 years old and have lost weight and muscle since I was diagnosed as Pre-diabetic and stopped eatin a ton of sweets. I am not taking any medication, just watching my diet. So sweets are out, I am careful about carbs and no diary, or minimal. only eat fish and turkey for protein. I do eat eggs.
I am not a member of a gym,( I am,but it’s a free gym at a senior center 20 miles from me). I have small weights at home that I use.
The question is, can I gain any muscle with my situation like it is?
    Thanks for your reply

      (Quote)  (Reply)

    • Hi Richard, Realistically at 77 years old you’re not going to be able to build muscle like a 27 year old, but you can still make progress and improve regardless of your situation. It seems like you have the basics in place now with improving your nutrition and exercising regularly. If you would like for me to personally help you with your fitness and nutrition program, than you can register for a free-20 minute coaching call with me at: https://leehayward.com/blog/customized-programs
