Killer Trick To Burn More Fat During Your Workouts

If you are looking to speed up your metabolism, burn more calories, and lose that stubborn bodyfat without spending more time in the gym then you really need to check this out.

This is a killer fat burning training strategy that I got from Scott Abel. It’s called MET Training or Metabolic Training. Which basically uses advanced training techniques to get more work volume done without spending more time in the gym.

One simple way that you can start incorporating this into your own workouts right now is to add in extra exercise for your non-target muscle groups.

For example, lets say you are in the gym working arms. This is all fine and dandy, but arm training doesn’t burn a lot of calories and it really doesn’t place a lot of demand on your central nervous system. Compare arm training to leg training. You’ll feel a much deeper level of muscular fatigue after training legs, and you’ll burn a lot more calories as well, compared to just working arms alone.

However, by using the principles of MET training you can make your arm workouts (and other workouts) more metabolically active, create much oxygen debt, increase your metabolism, and thus burn more bodyfat without spending more time in the gym.

All you have to do is add in some extra leg exercises between the sets of your upper body exercises. Now the main emphasis is still on training your target muscle group (i.e. arms, chest, shoulders, back, etc.) but you are just going to add in some extra leg work as a secondary exercise to create more metabolic demands on your body.

So while your upper body is resting, your legs are getting some extra work and burning more calories and helping to shed off that stubborn bodyfat.

Here’s an example of how to use MET Training with your upper body workouts:

Here’s another example of how to use MET Training with your lower body workouts:

Now this is just a very basic example of how MET training works, but if you would like to take full advantage of this advanced muscle building & fat burning training system, then I suggest you head on over to: www.METtraining.net

And download a copy of Scott Abel’s MET Training program. Scott has trained over 400 top level bodybuilders, figure competitors, and athletes with this style of training. This isn’t some half baked workout program from some newbie kid on the Internet, this was developed by one of the best bodybuilding trainers in the world.

    Hi Lee,

In one of your workout videos you demonstrate a workout with Chest Shoulders and Tri’s. Do you not think thats too much muscle to work in one session? Or did you have have some other reason to group those together? I know that you grouped them because they are the “pushing” muscles, but when doing this workout with some other guys they reckoned it was too much muscle to workout in one session. What do you reckon?

Absolutely, this is a great way to train that keeps the intensity of your workouts high and aids with fat loss and conditioning. I’ve been a huge fan of Scott Abel for years. I’ve been reading his stuff since I was a teenager. Bottom line the man knows his stuff.

Sometimes just losing bodyfat will help. But if you really have breast tissue growth, then that has to be removed with surgery, just google search “gynecomastia”

What’s “too much” or “not enough” is all relative to the individual. We have different work capacities and different recovery levels. For example, an advanced bodybuilder is going to be able to do a lot more work in the gym compared to a beginner.

So if you find that particular workout is too much for you, then either cut back on the volume of sets or separate those body parts into their own individual workouts.

    Hi Lee,

    This is a great article.

My question is do we rest after we have completed the circuit that includes the met training?

    Cheers

Its a great tip Lee & I’ll be following it for sure.
    thanks alot.

  • MET training really takes fat loss and explosive lean muscle growth to the next level and I love the advice! This advice is truly for any athlete or individual who wants to take it to the “next level”

I can’t tell you enough how much I love to “work legs in between my arm sets and other upper body sets” It is such an incredible workout and I love the muscle building and fat burning benefits.

    Keep up the great work!

Hi Lee, big shout out to you from here in the UK, i dont know how many of your fans are British but im definitely one of your fans. Love your story and love your website/videos etc…….. keep up the great work……..

Im going to start this MET training next week when i do biceps, triceps and shoulders. Lunges and squats randomly in between sets or exercies………….. MY 2 QUESTIONS FOR YOU LEE . . . .Is it ideal to use lightweights in both Lunges and Squats? last but not least…….. Can i still do my half hour brisk walking as my warm down as part of the fat burning routine? Would you advise it still? Thanks for reading.

All of your questions and the specific workouts to follow, foods to eat, supplements to take, etc. are covered in detail in the MET Training Program at: http://www.METtraining.net

But you do training for the other muscle groups in between sets of your primary target muscle group. However, the main focus is still on your primary target muscle group so you don’t push the supplementary moves as hard.

As you can and should still do cardio in addition to your weight training to maximize fat loss.
