High Protein Low Carb Banana Pancake Recipe

This is a delicious muscle building meal that I got from the Anabolic Cooking cookbook on page 163.

It’s a very quick and simple high protein, low carb, pancake meal that you can enjoy while training for fat loss or even as part of a lean mass building training phase.

I must have eating a ton of these while dieting for my most recent bodybuilding show. It was awesome to be able to enjoy a tasty and satisfying pancake breakfast while sticking to a low carb fat loss diet!

The recipe is pretty straight forward, all you need is:
– 1 cup of liquid egg whites
– 2 whole eggs
– 2 scoops of banana flavored whey protein

Note: you can buy liquid egg whites in bulk online and save some cash at: http://www.LeeHayward.com/eggwhites

Just mix everything up in a shaker cup and then cook the mixture in a frying pan over medium heat.

This is enough pancake mix to make approx. 6-8 pancakes (depending on how big you make them).

Give this recipe a try and then leave me a comment below letting me know how you liked it.

    Thats a great idea,
although i think everyone should keep in mind that certain sweeteners in whey powders shouldn’t be heated because of health risks like cancer.
which for example occurs when heating E951 Aspartame above 45 Celsius.

So best to use aspartame-free Whey powders for this.

I use a similar recipe for great pancakes: 6 egg whites, 1 cup whole oats, 1 cup cottage cheese, vanilla and cinnamon for flavor. Blend everything up in a blender. Add water to get the consistency you like (more water equals thinner and lighter pancakes). Then, cook them up. I usually top with sugar-free syrup or smashed up fresh strawberries.

    Enjoy.

Yes, you can eat this anytime. It makes a great late night meal especially when dieting.

That’s awesome as well, I’ve often made pancake variations with oatmeal in them as well. But this particular one is perfect for anyone following a low carb diet plan.

Lee, you and Dave are my fav people down to earth bodybuilders and fitness enthusiasts. I have tried this with Chocolate Protein instead of Banana protein. But believe it rocks and awesome recipe. I have started eating this and believe me it does not bloat my stomach and the taste is second to none. Thank you and Dave like people for being such a great help. God bless you both.

Good tip Lee! I got one question though, would it make a big difference if we substituted the 2 scoops of banana flavored whey protein with 2 scoops of prograde? Thanks Lee.

It will work the same. Weight gainer, protein powder, etc. it’s all good for this recipe.

Honestly I haven’t used prograde products before so I can’t comment on them. But for the most part protein is protein so any brand will work fine.
