Bottom line, the quick and easy answer is “It Doesn’t Matter When You Workout” as long as you workout consistently.

Some people like to workout in the morning because it gets their day started off right and they can get it out of the way and get on with the rest of their day.

Others may find it good to workout on their lunch break.

A lot of folks workout after work or after school and this is usually when the gym is most busy.

And then some folks are night owls and prefer to workout later in the evenings.

Is one time better than another? Not really.

You can make arguments showing the benefits of working out at anytime. What’s most important is that you find a time that works well for you and your schedule and that you stick to it consistently.

I usually do mid evening, around 9pm before the gym closes. Gives me a push to get round quick! With my current gym now starting 24hrs, this will certainly change my perspective of when to train to see if this makes any impact on gains. Will keep posted on any changes!

I work out as late as possible – I like the gym to be empty, and my mind isn’t full of what the day may bring. Better sleep, too….some cottage cheese or greek yoghurt before bed and I sleep like a baby.

  • Thanks Lee…this usually confuse me….looking forward for more…..AB’s.

According to me , i think cardio in the morning after a small breakfast and weight lifting late evenings coz its helps to elevate the Test levels.. I ve been doing it and works fine.

I always work out in the morning on my way to work. Suits be best to have it done first thing so to speak. This way I don’t need to worry about getting a break in for training during the rest of the day.
Compared to training in the afternoon I would say I am stronger during the afternoon but the benefits of that is not enough for me to give up my morning workouts…

I usually do 20 – 30 mins cardio first thing in the morning and 45 mins weight training at lunch times, I’m eating 5-6 times a day healthly and loosing weight, trying to bulk up on the chest but nothing really seems to take am I over training ? ( 4days on 1.5 off between sessions)
