    It’s a good idea to have a small meal with some easy digesting protein and carbohydrates about 1 hour before you workout. Something light and simple like a protein shake and a piece of fruit would be ideal as it will give you energy for your workout, but not sit heavy on your stomach.

    Dear Lee im comming to you for help and realy hope u can give me advice .i have a 11y old son that walks with walkingaid he had a very big opperasion to rotate his legs as it sould be we do go to physio every week but the Dr sais he get mucels in his legs to make them strong enough to carry his body (he is not fat at all)he has very skinny legs if u dont mind could you send me an email with your advice please and thank u Louise from south africa

    • I would love to be able to help your son, but without being able to work with him one on one it would be hard for me to access his condition and know what exercises would be the most suitable for him. The best thing to do in this situation is to visit a good physiotherapist who can personally design a leg workout routine for him. It should only take a few one on one sessions to learn the exercises and then you should be able to continue on doing them on your own at home.

    • The TFB app is mainly for providing you with training and nutrition programs, exercise instructional demos, and there is an “Ask Lee” section in the app where you can chat with me directly and get answers to your questions. There is a workout tracker portion of the app where you can record your workouts, but it’s pretty basic compared to specific workout tracker apps.

    Hey Lee,

    Long time follower. Can you please settle something once and for all. Myself and some other guys in the gym always find ourselves arguing over cardio. Specifically when is the best time to do it. So my questio is…Do cardio before weight training , after, or does it matter? I do it after because i feel that your body is in a higher metabolic state and therefore will be more effective at fat burning.

    • You can do cardio at any time and still get results from it. But ideally you should do a short cardio workout before lifting weights as a general warm up. Then do your weight training workout. And afterwards you can do a longer cardio session to help with fat loss.

    • Most guys tend to respond better to shorter more intense workout programs, rather than long “marathon workouts”. I’d recommend that you start with the 3 day bodybuilding split routine that’s posted under the workouts section of the Total Fitness Bodybuilding App.
