Swallow Your Fear and JUMP!

Today I had the opportunity to check off a major goal of mine. This one was on my “Bucket List” of things that I MUST DO for quite a while now, and today I swallowed my fear and went Sky Diving!

If you’ve ever went sky diving before than you already know what an insane adrenaline rush it is. But for those of you who have never done it before, let me try and explain it to you…

Imagine jumping out of a perfectly good airplane at 15,000 feet and free-falling at 130 miles per hour (that’s over 200 kilometers per hour).

The feeling of acceleration is the most intense rush I’ve ever experienced in my life, words can’t do justice to explain how crazy it was!

And then all of a sudden you feel the breaks slam on as that para-shoot opens up, and you can let out a sign of relief as you enjoy the breath taking scenery while you descend to the ground.

That’s what I had the opportunity to do this morning, but again words can’t begin to explain it, you have to experience it for yourself!

I’ve posted up some pictures of my sky dive on my FaceBook fan page.

========================================

Life’s too short to be average…
We’re only going through this world once so grab life by the horns and live it up!

So please let me know what are some of your “Bucket List” goals are that you want to achieve in this lifetime, you can post them in the comments section below.

It’s A LOT more satisfying to say “I’m so happy that I did it !”
Rather than having regrets and saying “I should have did it.”

So go ahead right now and post your goals below, it will only take a minute.

And as an extra special incentive…
If I get at least 100 comments to this blog post, I’ll post up the full video of my sky dive jump so you can see just how shit baked scared I really was… But I went ahead and did it anyway… 😉

  • Good job Lee! Proud of you brotha…that takes some balls. I did it once on a first date when I lived in Mass, I’ll never forget the feeling and it’s something I still feel proud of doing since heights like that are scary as hell to me. Mike

That’s fantastic, nice photo, and can’t believe people jump out of those perfectly good airplanes. Was it hard to breathe, how many G forces does that put on you?

Some day I may try that as well, but may wait a while in case the shoot doesn’t open. My luck lol…

I don’t know all the stats off the top of my head, but yeah it’s weird breathing with all that wind rushing and your face flapping.

My God i saw the pics on facebook! skydiving is something i am looking forward to do some day, however on my wishlist is driving a V8 car around a track with no hold! just planning it when my wife leaves soon for her holidays! lolz otherwise she wont let me

  • Ray Navarrete

You’re so damn cool Lee!!! I definitely want to do it too, although this is definitely not in the top of my things to do list. My goals for the rest of this year are to go below 12% body fat, practice talking to girls at least 10 times a week (shy guy!), learn to dance salsa, and get into graduate school, well among other big ones! cool goals will be to ride an air balloon, go to a nice beach in mexico in good form (next spring!), and go to the great canyon sometime soon!

  • joe

Look’s like a rush Lee.Almost as much fun as going 150 on 2 wheels.

  • Greg

Good job Lee! I would like to try this one day.
I see you are in Las Vegas. If you are still ther you must try “Fly Away” indoor skydiving. It is so awsome, I do it each time we get to LV. You just inspired us all again! Thanks

  • danny

nice lee! 2 goals of mine always were:1. ride the trans-siberian railroad across russia (did it in 2008 – was awesome!)and 2. write a book about it –> still not finished, gotta put in the work still  (Quote)

  • rich

Very cool Lee…I Dont think I could do it

  • Jason Tucker

Id rather be deadlifting..nice job. Id love to do it but, I think my heart would probably stop! Haha. Did you do this locally Lee?

  • Andy Kaczmarek

Nice jump,I always wanted to do that but im very afraid of heights so the only way i’d do it is if the plane was going down and i didnt want to die in the crash. lol

  • Martin Rangel

Daamn Lee, DAT takes guts. Next time I go to Vegas I’ll know now where to get a skydive. My goal is to compete in a bodybuilding competition with in 4 years. Hey…it takes time to get RIPP!!!

  • Martin Rangel

Yeah I agree with Justin Cristian…What if the shoot dosent open. I’ll be pissen while in the air!!!!!!!!!

  • Chris

Haha! Good on you mate!that’s amazing!
    I’ve got to try it!!
There’s some great spots here in oz where you can do it!
Is just matter of growing some serious balls!!

  • Bob

I bet that jacked up your metabolism. lol

  • John

no guts no glory. I plan to have me deadlift up to 500 and bench over 3 within a year

  • John

no guts no glory lee. I plan to have me deadlift up to 500 and bench over 3 within a year. If i get the chance Ill give skydiving a try, it would be an amazing adrenaline rush

  • Jim

Nice time glad you made it. 🙂

Try this. Join the Marine Corps and go to a shooting war. That should cure you.
    Jim

  • Sven

there are absolutely NO Gforces involved. You fly at about 140 mp/h. It feels like holding your hand out of a car window while driving, only that your whole body is affected now. Breathing you do not have any problems whatsoever. There are so many securities, your shoot WILL open, no matter what. Even if it is only your reserve shoot. Insanely good fun…the jump is the hardest part…

  • Good job Lee! I would like to try this one day.

Friends of ours suggested indoor sky diving as well. No doubt it’s a lot of fun, but why fake it when you can do the REAL Thing?

  • Id rather be deadlifting..nice job. Id love to do it but, I think my heart would probably stop! Haha. Did you do this locally Lee?

No, we did this in Las Vegas. I don’t think there is anywhere that does sky diving in Newfoundland.

  • Yeah I agree with Justin Cristian…What if the shoot dosent open. I’ll be pissen while in the air!!!!!!!!!

While it is a crazy rush and scary as hell, it’s actually quite safe. There are so many precautions taken with this kind of thing. The company we went with has over 17 years of experience and they’ve never had any major injuries or problems. Some minor stuff like twisted ankles if people don’t land right, but nothing life threatening.

  • I bet that jacked up your metabolism. lol

LOL It certainly got my heart rate up that’s for sure 😉

  • Paul

nice Lee!! I’m gonna do this some day

  • val

well done lee you’ve got guts, maybe if i was a teenager i might be brave enough to do this. i rather take my chances at tramplinin

  • I’m sure you must have some crazy goals that you’d like to achieve. Don’t be shy, go ahead and post them up!

Another crazy goal of mine is to open out a Lamborghini on race track. I actually seen a flyer today for a place in Vegas that offers private driving lessons for high performance sports cars on a race track. I think that would be an insane adrenaline rush as well.

  • Richard Probert

Better you than me! I get a nosebleed at 6 feet.

  • Peter

ahaha i wanna see the video!!!

  • ahaha i wanna see the video!!!

If we get at least 100 comments of people sharing their “Bucket List” goals to this blog post I’ll post up the video 🙂

  • dave

I wanna try accelerated freefall solo jump first time .

  • Colton

Hey Lee, awesome pics… I love the ones with your face flappin’ back from the wind lol. Anyways a goal of mine that i want to accomplish in my life is to win a first place medal in any of my bodybuilding compitions. Just the thought of knowing that you were in the best physical shape out of everyone who participated in the event for me would feel very accomplishing to me and hopefully one day in the future i can make that happen!!!!

  • dave

hahaz…nice one…im still a student so i still have a shit load of to-do things in my list.. in fact i can betcha i can create another 3 to-do lists if i have to time to sit down and think about it. btw my to-do list currently has over 50 items.

  • Wayland Couch

  • roshan

one of my goals is to come a bodybuilder. now that footballs over forever (not planning on playing after this year) i want to become ripped because i always loved the working out part of football

  • roshan

if were talking bucket list then it would actually be skydiving

  • roshan

i’m just afraid of it not opening that would suck. just losing your life like that

  • Evan

Hey lee, I’ve always wanted to go skydiving but have always been too afraid to do it. I start thinking of all the things that could go wrong and ways to put it off.
After looking at the pictures and reading this post (and vince delmonte’s) I’ve finally decided to cut all the bullsh** excuses and go. I’m going to book it now while I’m still fired up! Thanks for the inspiration
