I’m writing this blog post from a little tropical Paradise in Mexico,
sitting at a peaceful beach bar with a beautiful view of the ocean,
and sipping on a cup of freshly ground Mexican coffee.
But yesterday afternoon myself and fellow online muscle building coach Jeff Anderson tried our best to battle the waves. This was my first time surfing and I knew it was going to be tough… But it was even tougher then I expected.
And being a pretty big guy, especially by surfer standards (I’m 5’6 and 220 lbs.) makes it all the more challenging to get up on that board.
I did manage to get up briefly a few times, but this was one hell of a workout. My core strength, balance, and muscular endurance were put to the test. And I loved every second of it!
One of my personal goals to maintain a solid overall fitness base so that I can jump in and participate in any kind physical activity at anytime. Now granted I’m still a bodybuilder at heart, so I do tip the scales in favor of muscle building. But I like to train for an overall balance of flexibility, agility, endurance, etc. I never want to be the so called “muscle bound” bodybuilder.
Here is a pic of me below riding in on the tail end of a wave. My girlfriend Trish caught some footage of my few successful attempts and my many unsuccessful attempts on video. When I get home I’ll post them up in a YouTube Blooper Video.
Anyway, I just wanted to touch base and let you know about the 21 Day Extreme Muscle program that I mentioned last week. If you haven’t heard about this yet just go to: https://leehayward.com/blog/lean-mass-building-system/
My original plan was to keep this down to a small individual coaching program, but I’ve received over 500 applications, so I think I’m going to scale this up to a larger group coaching program. I haven’t finalized all the details yet, but when I get home from Mexico later this week I’ll let you know how this program will go.
Again, if you are interested in taking part in this project you can still apply, just go to:

Hope you had a blast in Mexico Lee. Thanks for sharing the pics! I know surfing is tough. At 6’3″, 200#, and most of it on top (my wife says my fat head) I can not stay on the silly thing. I applaud you for making the attempt.
