Progress Video: posing 10 1/2 weeks out from competition…

This is a progress video clip that I shot this past Wednesday after my workout at Global Gym.

Yes, I’m back posing in the can at the gym…

You wouldn’t believe all the e-mails and comments I got about the last video I posted up when I was posing in front of the crapper. Some people got a real kick out of it, some thought I was posing out in some random public bathroom, and some I guess enjoy the “ambiance” of the toilet…

Well the reason I practice my posing in there has nothing to do with the “background”, but that spot just happens to have the best lighting in the locker room, that’s where the mirror is so I can see myself, and I can set my flip cam on the counter top to take progress video. So I’ll continue flexing for all I’m worth in front of the crapper.

Note: Another extra bonus here is just in case I “squeeze” too hard, I don’t have far to run if I feel the urge to “GO” 😉

Anyway… enough crap talk, let’s get down to the progress. I’m currently 206 pounds (down from 220) so I’m quite happy with my results thus far. I think that with another 10 weeks of strict dieting, and dropping another 15 pounds or so, I should be able to come in at my all time best contest shape.

So without further ado, here’s the video…

  • TRogers

Lee, looking good, you should def hit your peak in time.

When you started your diet, did you keep the calories the same everyday and just take 500-750 off your maintenance level? Or did you start right in with the carb cycle you talk about in your book “First BB Competition”?

  • Rod

Looking incredibly good..and I can see the difference. Lee I am very proud of you and once again, you’ve done it. Your hard work and honest approach to fitness is very much appreciated. Make the competition sweat.

    Keep those veins popping!

    Hey Lee,
A huge THUMBS UP from Mexico. You are looking better every time. I agree that your delts look huge and the definition that you are getting so far, show the years of hard work, honest dedication to natural bodybuilding, and personally believe that winning this championship is well earned and deserved by an honest and professional guy like you. Keep up the great job and keep being ways of inspiration for your friends and fans. I am one of them!

  • Great vascularity in upper chest and shoulders.

  • Wesley: Hey Lee what vegetables do you prefer most when your on your cutting diet?

    I eat a wide variety of veggies…
spinach, lettuce, green peppers, celery, zucchini, cucumber, onions, mushrooms, bean sprouts, brussel sprouts, carrots, green beans, broccoli, cauliflower, etc… the list goes on and on basically any type of veggies are good to go.

I never counted calories, just started cleaning up my diet by avoiding the “crap” I shouldn’t be eating and doing more cardio and then got stricter and stricter as the weeks went on.

    HI LEE,

    YOU LOOK GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I THINK YOUR THURSDAY NIGHT SHOW IS GREAT, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.

  • Richard Probert

That diet is sure working. Great job !

  • Faust

Hey Lee Looking good man. Your hard work is really paying off! How do you get lats like those? For some reason it seems like mine never grow regardless of how hard I work them out! You need to come out with a blast your back! Also how do you get your veins to pop out that like? That is crazy! Well take it easy man!

  • David

Lookin great, keep up the hard work.

  • Sean

Sick veins Lee! Chest and lats look fabulous! BTW, on your most muscular pose, I noticed a difference in what is typically done, you cut your traps off of the pose. If you roll forward a bit, you can get those traps to “pop” up and over into the pose. I know you you know what I am talking about, so why don’t you do this kind of pose in your routine and why?

    Nice progress. 😉

  • Bob

Lee, you look outstanding. What is your current body fat percentage at and where do you hope to be come contest time?

  • Andre

lee, your lats are looking magnificent, the progress is coming along great. just keep up the dieting and your abs should look amazing as well

  • Peter

Hey bro your looking fresh! work on bicep-tricep seperation though, you bis look a little soft but shoulders, lats and abs look shredded! Also, delt-bicep seperation, you should concentrate on that as well. Besides those 2 things, you look fantastic!

  • Mark

I have to assume this is a drug free or natural contest? How has the dieting affected your strength levels? What is your target final weight?

  • Yantz

hey dude your looking fu**in sick! no doubt you will blow away the competition!

  • ace

Hey Lee!! not to shabby!! ..how are you managing the awsome vascularity?? veins are looking great bro!!

  • ace

so this was taken at Wal-Mart eh?? damn bro I get bored when we have to go there to, but damn!!…just kidden!! LOL

  • ace

Lee, i got it! ya gotta get someone to pretend to use the toilet while your in there it’d be a great spoof!!

  • Pustule

It doesn’t look like you’re carrying much fat at all, but I’m a little concerned about your distended gut. Maybe it’s because you’re short?

Anyway, keep it up and good luck!

  • hi lee, good progress but need to work more on triceps and lower abs.

  • mark

  • RALIQUE

my most important question is,when eating a low carb diet so long, how do u keep your test and hormone levels high enough to maintain muscle mass and keep your sex drive

  • James Goldring

Thanks Lee, looking GOOD! I really appreciate all that you do for bodybuilding/ fitness, your not a steroid pumping caveman but instead a real, attainable fitness icon that (im sure as well as other) encourages me to aspire to be my best! Kepp up the good work, train hard!
    James Goldring

  • Georgi

Well done Lee. I am not into heavyweight, but you’re working hard and like just that. You look good and after trimming some more you’ll be good to go. However the only thing you can and have to improve (that is not necessarily for this contest) is your biceps, but I guess you already know that. So keep up the good work and good luck.

  • Neil

looking real good you doing great I have the right coach for sure thanks Lee ive dropped 37lbs from 229 down to 192 keep up the good work Bro.

  • Riaz

Lee, Both the times you posted your progress videos, you never showed the condition of your lower body. Next time, don’t forget to show poses of your lower body as well. (legs, calves, thighs, etc etc.. whatever) You know, better than me, how important your lower body is, as compared to the uppers. I hope you are developing the lower-half of your body, well enough.

    Well, everything seems pretty good.

1 more thing I really wanted to know is that:

How to build that V- shaped back quickly? What is the most-best thing to do to get that V shape & what are the best back exercises to build that V back?

    Thanks.

  • Aimo

    Congratulations, young man!

Your form is better and better every time.

About the talk of your biceps: People obviously forget, that there are many types of these muscles. Your genetics make your biceps different than those of many other men. We can not be cloned to imitate our forms to equal those medicine men, who are breaking all there born barriers with artificial hormones! I think that your biceps are exceptionally good for a natural athlete! If they had a high peak, they would be too much when compared with your other parts. I am sure, that if you can manage to reach your definition goal, you will make just fine in the competition. Some of the commentators are making the error of demanding too much from an unripe product! All of your efforts will be seen in the competition day… I am sure that you are going to be at your best this year and if you are going to continue training hard, you will surely surprise in the future years both yourself and those, who are so eager to give their negative thoughts out here! Continue having your positive attitude, my son!
Your Finnish friend Aimo (72), Spain.

  • Lee! Looking vascular as hell man. A lot of muscle for 206 lbs. Are you gonna rock the mohawk in your show? 😉

  • michael iantorno: HI LEE,YOU LOOK GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I THINK YOUR THURSDAY NIGHT SHOW IS GREAT, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.

Cool, glad you enjoy the talk show!

  • Bob: Lee, you look outstanding. What is your current body fat percentage at and where do you hope to be come contest time?

I’m not big on the whole bodyfat percentage thing because it is will vary a lot depending on the method used. According to the accu-measure BF tester I’m at 5%, but they tend to give a low reading so in all honesty I’d say I’m around 10% give or take.

The goal for the show is as ripped as possible, meaning as dam close to zero bodyfat as humanly possible 😉

  • RALIQUE: my most important question is,when eating a low carb diet so long, how do u keep your test and hormone levelshigh enough to maintain muscle mass and keep your sex drive

A good woman can help with the sex drive LOL

But seriously I eat a good diet, even though I’m not eating much starch. I’ll still keep my protein, veggies, and healthy fats in there. Protein and fat help with testosterone production, carbs mostly cause insulin spikes.

  • ace: Lee, i got it! ya gotta get someone to pretend to use the toilet while your in there it’d be a great spoof!!

    LOL

  • Pustule: It doesn’t look like you’re carrying much fat at all, but I’m a little concerned about your distended gut. Maybe it’s because you’re short?Anyway, keep it up and good luck!

I know I have a big waist for bodybuilding, I don’t genetically have a wasp thin waistline. Other then losing bodyfat (which I’m currently working on) there really isn’t much else that can be done.

But at the same time I do have a 49 inch chest and a 34 inch waist. So it’s still a 15 inch difference which is better than average.

  • Elliott: Lee!Looking vascular as hell man.A lot of muscle for 206 lbs.Are you gonna rock the mohawk in your show? ;)

    Thanks Elliot!
Yeah I’m going to keep the fauxhawk going for the show 😉

  • good and perfect body shape. how long the practice to form the back and shoulders like that and nutrients used?

  • Keep it up Lee! So far so good. I am keeping track of your progress.

  • Ray

    Lee,
Back, shoulders, chest, all look good but your biceps, triceps, traps, and abs don’t seem to match the rest of your body. I’d like to see more definition to these muscle groups. Other than that I think you could be a good contender. I’d also like to see your competition and compare what you are up against. I really enjoy your website. Good luck with your competition.
