Bodybuilding Posing Practice 13 Weeks Out…

Bodybuilding Posing Practice 13 Weeks Out…

This is a video clip I took last night during my posing practice. I’m currently 13 weeks out from the 2010 Atlantic Canadian Bodybuilding Championships. I’m 216 pounds right now and plan on dieting down to about 195 pounds for the show.

I’m going to be posting up progress pics and video clips like this every few weeks during my entire contest prep to help hold myself accountable to follow through and actually do what I say I’m going to do. Hopefully this will also help to motivate and inspire you as well to kick your training and nutrition into high gear and get in your personal best shape ever as well.

And if you’d like to know exactly the kind of pre-contest diet plan I’m following, etc. I have it all outlined in my book “Your First Bodybuilding Competition”

    Hey Lee,

    Sly here, what’s up dude?

I’m happy to see that you’re still pushing some iron to make it. Your commitment and devotion are impressive for the average Joe. Since I’m a former MMA North American champion, I know a lot about sacrifice and… injuries and the most important thing is to get back on your feet ASAP doing what you’re the best at, TRAINING LIKE A BEAST. you get my respect for that.

That bean said, I will really want to see more biceps volume/thickness especially on the double front, I’ve been training (couple years ago in Beloeil at the flex gym) with a former Mr. Universe champion; Mr. André Charette and I’ve learn from him how to blast a lacking body part. I don’t want to show up like I’m the next big things or whatever but the people that I’m training right now, back here in Montreal (on clear water only, no scarf on the but!) get amazing results with a couple of simple trick so, if you want to talk about it, write me back on my mail sylvaingravel1@hotmail.com

To your success, wishing you the very best
    Sly

    Lee,
Legs look good. Back is very good. You need to focus on the biceps and getting a little peak on them. Triceps look ok and will look better when you trim a little more. Best of luck.

  • Lance

A thinner waist would definitely bring more contrast and symmetry to the overall look I would think but then again I know very little about competition bodybuilding.

Where are the Atlantic Competitions this year? Are they these ones you are talking about?

    hey lee
i would agree with the comment above that ur biceps are a bit lagging but otherwise ur progressing really well 🙂

  • Biceps have always been a lagging bodypart for me. Granted I’ve made some good improvements over the years. Just check out my http://www.BlastYourBiceps.com to see how skinny my arms used to be.

But I’m always open to new tips, ideas, and suggestions so if you have any killer bicep training tips please feel free to post them here in the comments section.

  • Mitch

    Lee,
Can you post your body fat measurements throughout the prep time as well?
    Thanks

  • Hi lee

I am really happy for watching you making more progress day after day !

i wish for you all the best !

  • Tina

Great pecs and lats, Lee. Amazing actually! And good separation between the three shoulder heads. However, you could probably use some size on the delts themselves (at least from a front view) but perhaps as you slim down it will come. I’m a competitive runner first, but have gotten into bodybuilding and been training seriously for almost 2 years now; I’ve been following your blog closely since the summer and I find you very motivating and inspiring. Thanks for doing your thing, man!

PS I dont think your bi’s are lacking but that your torso and back are just huge in proportion…

  • Salvatore

I would say a little more mass on the biceps and traps and you’re set. Something tells me your competitors are starting to sweat!

  • TIM

Go for it Lee! You are an inspiration! Good Luck and Best Wishes for the competition. Your body fat measurements as you goget ready for the competition would be interesting. I just purchased my own electronic body fat instrument.

  • ace

not to shabby, isnt it hilarious how everybodys a fuckin critic??!! wth? make sure you get the hair out of your eye before the contest it looks like your makin out with the camera like Austin Powers…all in good fun Lee..Ill check back later on a more serious note

    • LOL Ace… I don’t mind the feedback, I got think skin. But at the same time it would be nice to actually see who’s posting the feedback sometimes. Especially the “YouTube” haters who get off on bashing every workout video that’s gets posted up 😉

  • Lee, I’m more into building businesses than bodies but in order to do this the key is people having the courage to do what it takes. I want to acknowledge the strength of character you have shown to post this video in the public domain and ask for constructive feedback. That takes “Balls”!

There are many body building sites out there but yours is the only one that I invest time in following. Keep up the great work.

  • TinyTim

Your biceps are fine. Many bodybuilders arms wash out there chest but not you. Your calves are awesome. I like your side view. You still have along time to get shredded. Best of luck to you.

  • Jason

Awesome job Lee! Since we do not have any weeks prior this to compare to I am going to reserve my judgement for a later post. But for 13 weeks out you look really good man. Can’t wait to see how you will evolve from week to week!

  • Lee- you are going to come up smokin. Keep up the excellent work. Will watch you progress with great interest as always. My best, Shelly Ann.

  • Lee,

Looks like your in the same shape as me at this point, which is good to know because we have roughly the same time line for a competition. Well, I’d like to think I have less around the belly tho! haha

I live in Columbus, Ohio. I’m using your book to get ready for my first bodybuilding competition, the NPC Northern Kentucky Bodybuilding show, about 11 weeks away or I might do the Mike Francois show in May, depending what shape I’m in I might do both. New Years evening was when I started dieting and doing the hour of cardio each morning and was at 14% body fat, 245 pounds, 5′ 11″. After 10 days, I’m at 237 pounds, and it keeps coming off! I want to get down between 215 and 225 ripped! Still gaining muscle too so it is a bit tricky telling where I’ll be at.

Good to see your picture posts, I’d say I’m on track too. I’m taking my photos every two weeks and will post them too, before the competition.

Great book, eh! BTW, I’m Canadian too, eh! If your ever in Columbus, Ohio for the Arnold Classic, give me a shout.

    Cheers,
    Shane

    • Thanks Shane, I’m thinking about going to the Arnold this year. Maybe we could meet up for a workout 🙂

Lee, I have very well rounded biceps as when I fist started lifting at the age of 15 using a store bought easy bar from walmart and some sand weights.
The standing easy bar curl really puts a peak and roundness to the biceps. They have never been a stuborn muscle for me to grow.
I need to work on my tricep delvelopment to even my arms out.

  • Steven

Hi Lee ! My comment is that I sure hope you are drinking Kangen water in your training! With a smaller molecular structure water your body will love it!

  • Kris Hall

I want your legs lee!! Your calves are pro!!

  • Ahmed

Considering the previous pics u posted u really need to shred down fat, because in previous contest pics u vr looking great, however your legs are impressive particularly calves! wish you all the best in contest! may you win it!

  • Brad

Looks great just shed the bodyfat. Good luck at the contest.

  • Joe

    Hey Lee,
Good progress thus far. It looks like you have put on about 5 – 10 kg of solid mass since your last contest. Otherwise I have to agree with a few of the above comments: still need to drop those love handles and tighten the look of your abs, and you could use some work on your biceps. I also think you could use some more work on your traps.
Other than that – lookin good!
Oh, next time make sure the background of the video/pics is uniform. That door behind you makes some poses look unbalanced.

  • Andre

    Hey Lee,
I will i can only critique to help you get ready. Your Hams, Tris, and Back need alot more definition. Otherwise everything else is looking superb. Good luck with your training.

  • Chuck

    hey LEe,
Looking good.I was just looking at one of your 2007 pre contest prep vidios around the same time out. Your muscles look more dense and fuller now compared to then.I see a big differnce from 2 or 3 years ago i know youll come in at your all time best shape.good luck at the contest

  • Chris

    Hi Lee,

Your legs/calves look great. One thing that really sticks out as under developed is your biceps. They look rather flat compared to your tripceps and forarms. Your total body development looks great though. Work on the biceps. Although I have great biceps(strong point for me), your way ahead of me everywhere else! Good luck.

  • mekey

Ok lee great legs man they are the bomb , here in the Caribbean we say your legs are on , Ok since i must critique you ,these are my findings , i think your chest can use some work it needs to be fuller or should i say more rounded for that sexy look LOL, and i agree that your bis need some sprucing up , but if you are doing bicep exercises without much progress then i suggest you focus more on the tri-cep after all when your tris are huge your whole arms looks fuller, other than that you are looking cool dude, keep up the work you are almost there my man,ps i even saw the abs, good stuff.

  • Thanks for all the comments. I appreciate the feedback. One thing I’ll mention is that the leaner you get, the bigger you look. Even if your bodyweight on the scale is going down. In the past when I’ve posted up progress pics I actually “look” bigger towards the lighter I get. So I know that when I drop 20+ pounds or so I’ll look bigger then I do here.

  • bob g

Lee – Have to agree with some of the others, need to work on the arms. Also, are you aware that your left leg if much more developed than your right leg? But with the time you have left, not bad!

  • Lee looking awesome buddy!

legs lookin dry from the side, calves are as always mental lol.

keep on track and you will be dialed in man!

If i can help anyway let me know!

Bi’s, outer quads, and forearms lagging a little. Need to work that midsection. Chest, back and shoulders look good.

  • some more quads as i poited befoe, and add some muscle in middle of ur back just under the trapz.

  • Saeed

    Hey Lee

Good 2 c ya geting ready 4 da contest. Just a lil more definition 4 quads & triceps n a bit more muscle mass 4 back is gona make u perfect.

Wanna take this opportunity 2 put my question b4 u. I ‘ve stopped growing both in terms of height n width. Its da case since almost a year n a half. I don’t think genetics may b responsible 4 this as all of my family members ‘ve a good height n width. I used a couple of strips of pill named “V-V OPTAL”. My doubt goes 2 that pill. M 18 now. Can u give a reason 4 that plz or recommend a remedy?

  • Hi,
I think body building is an art because work out is so simple but you will not doing it properly then you will get a body but i think it will not so attractive so you need to know about the basics of the body building. I think trainer can be a great way to solve this problem. Anyways keep post was interesting and i have really enjoyed it.

  • DUSTIN PEEBLES

HEY MAN LEE LOOKIN GREAT.I STARTED DIETING ABOUT THE SAME TIME AS YOU.BUT I AM LIGHT WEIGHT AT152 RIGHT NOW AND PRETTY RIPPED AND NOT SURE HOW MUCH TO LOSE.I WOULD LOVE TO START COMPETING JUST DONT KNOW WHERE TO START ANY ADVISE I LIVE IN TEXAS.HOPE YOU DO GREAT AND LOOKIN GOOD!!:) GOOD LUCK

  • ian

Lee looks like your on course bigman!
legs and upper body looking good-abs are starting to make an apperance good job thus far mate.

  • R

    Hey Lee,

Posting the video is cool and you are looking awesome. Your honest approach is always outstanding. Not many BBuilders open themselves to suggestions, and that’s where you stand out and become more dynamic. With 13 weeks to go, you have some time to get more shredded and will be more than ready.

  • wallace CHAMBERS

    Lee

  • wallace CHAMBERS

whats up Lee man you look great know you like about 225 i hate to see how ripped you will be at 195 .I will be checking on your progress thanks man

  • E. J.

Looks awesome to me! I’m just starting to get a handle on the nutrition thing but it was your “Blast Your Bench” that started me. Thanks for everything and good luck man!

  • Sean

LOVE THE COWS!!! I think your quads are bigger this time around too so that there is more balance with those “cows”. Yeah, just a bit more on the shoulders and traps, but everything else will look killer once you shred. I think you will beat yourself this time around. 😉

  • Aakash

Hey lee wish you gud luck. you are the inspiration for all

  • ACE

ace: not to shabby, isnt it hilarious how everybodys a fuckin critic??!! wth? make sure you get the hair out of your eye before the contest it looks like your makin out with the camera like Austin Powers…all in good fun Lee..Ill check back later on a more serious note  (Quote)

Ok Lee here goes…once you lose the water weight youll be shredded like wheat!!your arms are proportional so screw all that…your legs are huge! calves, etc..did i say calves i mean cows..lose the water and your gonna be one ripped son of a bitch!!.. I ll get a pic posted uo to ya so you know who I am when you see me..Hell, maybe I should post a vid, then everyone can critique me! you know its gonna push ya in the gym..ha ha..ditch the water bro..lean food, water pill etc..your already ready just ditch the water…kick its ass Lee!!!!

  • Tim

Hey Lee, looks good, shedding the excess fat is always the defining moment. Just a comment on the biceps, they look fine, and from a scientific standpoint, if you do the research the peak on your bicep is genetically determined and cannot be changed through exercise unless you are genetically gifted in that area. So good luck with it all.

Kris Hall: Lee,I have very well rounded biceps as when I fist started lifting at the age of 15 using a store bought easy bar from walmart and some sand weights.

  • Kyle

    Hi Lee

    HI LEE,
    LEGS LOOK

BICEPS AND DELTS AND THEN ITS PERFECTION !!!
KEEP FOCUSING ON THE PRIZE BRO RESPECT

  • ahmed
