Does Acai Berry Really Work?

I posted up a whole rant about Acai Berry on my old blog back in November. But I’m still getting several e-mail on a daily basis from guys asking me: “Does Acai Berry Really Work?”

So that’s why I’m sharing this info again here. Please read it and then forward it on to your friends so they don’t get caught in the scam. Below this post there is a share button that will allow you share this with your facebook friends and twitter followers. I encourage you to share this post, after all if we can prevent just one person from getting scammed out of their money then it will be well worth it!

So without further delay, I shall answer the question below…

“Does Acai Berry Really Work?”

I’m sure that if you have surfed the Internet at all over the last few months you must have seen these Acai Berry banner ads plastered everywhere. Usually with the headline: “How I got ripped in 4 weeks…” or something along those lines along with a “before” and “after” picture of some dude who is jacked and in awesome shape.

And you know what…

These ads can be tempting. I mean when I first seen those banners myself I had to click on them and go check it out to see what it was all about. But anytime I see an ad hyping up a supplement I always put on my BS detector. After all when it comes to supplements if they are legit and work, you’ll hear about it from real world feedback. NOT from an advertisement.

After all… anyone who has an iota of sense knows that there is no other way to build a muscular physique than busting your butt in the gym on a consistent basis. If anyone (or any advertisement) tries to tell you otherwise they are full of sh!t.

By the way, Acai Berry is nothing more then some over priced, over hyped fruit. In fact you could go and eat a handful of blueberries and get more anti-oxidants and health benefits. I don’t think you would ever be so naive as to think you are going to get big and ripped eating blueberries… Well, Acai Berries are no different.

Now the fact that these ads (which are plastered everywhere) are out right lying and being dishonest about a Bull Sh!t product and trying to scam people out of there money is pretty bad…

But that’s not the worst of it…

These Acai Berry scam artists are illegally using pictures of honest and reputable people in their advertisements (i.e. actors from the movie 300, top MMA fighters, fitness trainers, etc.) Trust me, none of these guys would ever promote this crap.

They have even used some of MY before and after pictures taken right from my website saying that “I Got Ripped In 4 Weeks” from this crap.

Just to let you know it took my 6 months of hard dieting, daily cardio, and weight training to get in the shape I did. If it was as easy as popping a few acai berry pills everyone would be in awesome shape, and we know that’s not the case.

This pisses me off to no end because I would never in a million years recommend this garbage to anyone. But the worse thing is that my online followers who see me in these ads may actually fall for it and get scammed out of their money.  And even if someone were to realize it’s a bunch of BS, it makes ME (and everyone else) look bad because these A$$ Holes are associating our faces with their junk product.

So that’s why I’m saying this loud and clear…

ACAI BERRY IS A FRIGGEN SCAM!!! STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM IT!!!

It’s bad enough that they are selling a BS product, but to tarnish the image of honest people with their scam just makes my blood boil.

In fact the Better Business Bureau has received literally thousands upon thousands of complaints from consumers. And they have released a statement warning everyone to be wary of any website offering acai berry-related products.

Unfortunately, law enforcement officials have yet to catch up to these rogue operators because they operate in foreign countries and they don’t provide any contact information or anyway to get in touch with them. But sooner or later they will get caught, it’s only a matter of time, and when they do you can bet they are going to face some heavy fraud charges and hopefully some serious jail time as well.

    Hey Lee,
I understand why you would be pissed off as anyone would. But anyone who follows your blog and knows you would know you wouldn’t push this crap.

    Hey Lee,

Thank you friend for insight on this product. It is so disheartening to know that people are using wrong ways to sell their product. I really appreciate people like you who take utmost care and pain and research on these BS products. And it is so funny that your pic was there in the 4 week transformation. Why, didn’t you sue this website. So that they would never dare to put someone’s picture. Thank you once agan for your help.

    thanks lee

  • ne one who thinks thats a 4 weeks transformation is just as stupid thinking that acai berry works…c’mon man

  • Bodybuilding is a great sport and past time but it is being used to make money by selling supplements to people who want ‘it’ quicker than what their body can deliver. There is no consistent scientific evidence that most of these bodybuilding supplements work. At best you are wasting your money at worst supplements like the pro-hormones not only do not work but they can have long lasting health damaging side effects.

We all should really be pissed off with the whole supplement industry and the superstars and magazines that promote this junk.

A respected ‘Guru’ like yourself can you start changing all this by naming and shaming these other BS products and the glossy mags that promote them.

As individuals we could boycott the mags until they start putting sound advice on their pages.

  • Jay

Hey man i’ve been following your programmes and train of thought for a long time now and we all know you wouldn’t promote some product real or not without trying it yourself and to be fair the stigma around the acai berry is all self promoted crap. We trust your knowledge mate and know your out for everyones achievements not just to make money. Using blast your biceps i’ve increased my arms by almost an inch and a half in a couple of months, i’m know the proud owner of 19inch upper arms and 16 inch forearms, Thanks dude for all the gains you’ve helped me with. Keep up the good work and good luck with the comp coming soon! peace bro

  • Thanks for the comments. I appreciate the support.

As you can imagine this just annoys the crap out of me. I can’t begin to tell you how many e-mail I’ve gotten about this whole scam since they started using my pics.

You might want to go and share this link and video with your friends and buddies at the gym, etc. who maybe considering this crap. The more we spread the word about this scam, the more likely these guys will get shut down. And at the very least, if we can prevent someone from falling for it and getting ripped off then it’s worth it.

  • Aish

    Hi Lee,
thank you very much for so valued information you discussed in your article, really outstanding. This would help thousands of people to be safe from such frauds. thank you once again

  • “AMEN”, LEE! I never wanted to waste moolah(money) on these “get ripped” things, anyway! They look “questionable” & I want to stay “drug-FREE” & whenever anyone asks me, I want to “honestly” say, from the heart(soul): “I built this body ALL-NATURALLY! I ‘NEVUH'(NEVER) took a steroid! I built this body by good nutrition(hi-protein, hi-carb diet, drinking lots of milk & getting my veggies/fruit, too) & working out 2-3 times a week(mine are 15-25 minute sessions, 2-3 sets of 2-5 exercises, 8-20 reps per set)! I do like an all Natural protein powder like a heaping scoop of soy or whey mixed in 1-2 glasses milk, immediatelly after a workout, when my muscles are still tight/pumped. Then, I eat a good meal about 30-45 minutes later of high carb, high protein or meat with a few eggs & a vegetable like peas, corn, beans. I’m making progress gradually- but I’m proud to say it’s all NATURAL! -“YAY”! -“ROCK”! Dacvid ROCK Nelson, Monster/comemovie maker, actor, comic, former MARINE & boxer!

  • Great post buddy!

If only that was possible eh! LOL… Guys like us bust our asses in the gym and dieting for weeks to get in this kind of shape…

Damn, some people just have no moral values… I just don’t understand how you can scam people like that… makes me so mad!!

  • Lee,

I hope those fraudulant people get hammered by every legal means available. Please know, they aren’t just maligning your (and other fitness-related individuals) name! They are also giving the Acai berry and companies and independent distributors that use and market products based on the Acai berry a bad rap as well. I have never told anyone that the Acai berry will help them get cut in four weeks! It is, however extremely rich in anti-oxidants (scienctific studies have shown that when processed properly, they have a ridiculous ORAC value) and other nutrients. So I hope everyone does their homework and not through all Acai berry based products under the bus! That would be kinda like saying all protein supplements are bogus cause there’s some bad apples in the bunch. Check out my website for more information.

  • lokesh

    Hi Lee,

  • God that’s really bad form.Using you’re hard earned physique to sell a crap product.I mean first of all no product is going to get you that ripped in four weeks even if you ate anabolics for dinner.Intelligent people know that that kind of body comes from years upon years of hard work.Well genetics plays it’s part aswell,But you know what i mean.Anyway hope them aholes get what’s coming to them.Keep up the good work lee.

I trust you enough to know that you wouldn’t be a part of such a scam.

Like I said in the video, there is nothing “wrong” with acai berry itself. But it’s not some magic muscle builder / fat burner like these scammers are trying to make it out to be.

  • richard: actually lee i don’t have a comment. i currently receive e-mails from your website on tips of how to get a good work out, which have helped a lot. i want to lose weight. my question is does the supplement lipo 6 really work

When it comes to fat loss my personal favorite is the plain old ephedrine and caffeine stack. This is what I use when dieting for a bodybuilding competition and it does work, but you won’t get ripped in 4 weeks… maybe 4 months LOL

You can get more info about ephedrine and order it online at: http://www.LeeHayward.com/ephedrine.htm

That’s part of the scam, they’ll using cookie tracking, etc. to have their webpage automatically change the location to your local area in effort to make the ad more “believable”.

  • ricky

thanks for telling me man. scammers like that piss me off.

  • Hey Lee!

Of course there are no magic products. Only lazy and uncompromising people can fall for this. Unfortunatelly, there are many of thos ewho are willing to believe whatever makes them feel comfortable with their unfitting lifestyles.

You said it well and I will say it again; there is only one way: workout, eat well, and keep up your good discipline!

    Thanks for your advices.

  • Barry

You got in shape in six months? Bullshit.

Guys work for YEARS to get in great shape.

  • Sean

Thanks for posting Lee! Yep, as soon as you put some good before/after photos on the web, BAM, instant marketing material for the scammers. What is a guy to do, well MAKE A BLOG POST! Get out the real story! Nicely done Lee. 😉

  • Jack

HAHAHAHAHHAHAHA thats so awesome, well done lee *4 weeks* haha, lol wat a joke that crap is, court bra, take them down hardcore!

  • Who else is curious to know if acai berry really works? If you are anything like I used to be when I first got started investigating alternative health and wellness supplements and strategies, you are already aware of how difficult it is to separate the fact…from the fiction! With so many competing interests involved…and so many BIG dollars involved, at some point, shutting down our cynical and skeptical side becomes a challenge, especially when the BENEFITS seem so bodacious, big and bountiful!

Man Lee, this is so bogus of these scum wads to do their advertising without your consent. Seems like you should contact your attourney to settle for defimation of character and illegalally using your pictures to endorse their product without your prior consent. Man if this were me I would be fuming! All the nerve of these scum suckers is un-believable. I am sure they know that you will sue the crap out of their a$$es. They probally have figured this into their equation make money of your face and reputation and then settle with you and cut their losses. Anyway, good luck with what ever you decide to do. You are such a nice and honest individual, you deserve better treatment.

To your good health and fitness-

No it’s not BS. The before and after pics they used for the ad were taken 6 months apart. You can see them for yourself at: http://www.leehayward.com/2007pics/offseason/index.htm

The acai berry is really a superior berry in many ways. Serious processors had to figure out how to “bottle” this easily oxidized berry so that its nutrients are delivered to the end user. As far as I know the only way to guarantee potency at any level would be to process the berry near the site of collection immediately after it is harvested. This would be like the “Bird’s Eye” system where they would be frozen immediately upon harvest or cooled to around 40 degrees F and fermented shortly after.

Unfortunately the scam artists took a great food cooked it, powdered it and reduced its value to minimal amounts while maximizing the claims for the product. You can still buy good acai but use it only as an antioxidant and not to create “miracles”. A body builder that doesn’t use antioxidants in addition to good food is suicidal and can count on health problems later in life.

Affiliate Marketing is a performance based sales technique used by companies to expand their reach into the internet at low costs. This commission based program allows affiliate marketers to place ads on their websites or other advertising efforts such as email distribution in exchange for payment of a small commission when a sale results.

There’s a movement to radically change California government, by getting rid of career politicians and chopping their salaries in half. A group known as Citizens for California Reform wants to make the California legislature a part time time job, just like it was until 1966.

What are your thoughts on freezing the fat cells on your stomach?
This technique is supposed to kill the white fats cells that are sensitive to cold weather. This would be utilized for a person who is in great shape but cannot remove the pouch area that hangs over the stomach area where you have the extra fat deposits.
