I get literally dozens of e-mail every single day from people asking me in some form or another:
“What is the best bodybuilding workout program?”
The bottom line is that we all want to know that we are getting the most muscle building benefits from the time and effort we spend in the gym. No one wants to waste their time with ineffective workout programs.
But unfortunately, the vast majority of all gym members are doing just that…
Wasting their time…
Just think about the folks you see on a regular basis at the gym.
How many of them look the same now as they did this time last year?
If you were to actually track the average gym members progress with “before” and “after” pics most would look the same (or even worse).
Very few people actually make noticeable improvements and get better on a regular basis.
This is the typical gym member’s situation…
They’ll start off with some workout program, maybe one that they got from a trainer at the gym, maybe something they got from a friend, or maybe some routine they found in a book or magazine they’ve read.
They’ll follow the program and as long as it’s somewhat decent, meaning that all the basics are covered and they are working all their major muscle groups, they will initially make good progress with this routine for a few months or so.
Master The Basics…
When you are brand new to working out any muscle stimulation is good and will produce results. It doesn’t have to be anything exotic or advanced.
It’s similar to teaching a child who is just starting school, pretty much anyone could show them the basics of the alphabet and simple math if they took the time. You don’t need to have masters degree in education to teach ABC’s and 123’s.
But once the child learns basics, they need to move on to more advanced teaching. If you were to just keep drilling them over and over again with the alphabet and 1+1=2 it would be a total waste of time. They need new learning stimulation in order to progress.
Unfortunately a lot of gym members are stuck in the rut of doing the basics over and over again and literally spinning their wheels going nowhere in terms of building a bigger, stronger, more muscular physique.
Going Beyond The Basics…
Very few people will make any further progress after their first year of working out. What often happens is they’ll get bored with their lack of progress, lose motivation, and quit working out. Then they fall into into the dreaded working out “on and off again” program.
You know what I mean, you’ve probably done this yourself, or at least know someone who has. You’ll hear people say things like: “I’ve been working out on and off for 5 years”
What this basically means is they’ve gained and lost, then re-gained and re-lost, the same muscle over and over again for 5 years. Never moving past the basic beginners training phase and into more advanced levels of muscular development. It’s like yo-yo dieting except for muscle growth.
I certainly hope this is NOT where you are at in your training…
But if you are currently caught in this trap, at least you are now aware of it, and I’m going to show you how to bust out of this rut and make some REAL Muscle Gains over the next several months.
How To Bust Out Of A Plateau…
The first thing you need to realize when it comes to training for muscle gains is:
“Everything works, but nothing works forever.”
That is probably the most important thing to know when it comes to making consistent progress with your workouts over the long term. You can follow most any type of workout routine and you will make good progress for the first few weeks (provided that you are getting adequate nutrition, rest, etc.).
But generally after a month or so of following a set workout program your progress will start to slow down, and eventually you will no longer make progress with that routine. This is what we refer to as hitting a “plateau” in your training.
Adapt & Grow…
Our bodies are very smart and naturally accommodate and adapt to stress. The body will adapt to whatever training stimulus you receive by adding muscle, but it will only add as little muscle as necessary to get the job done. This is why construction workers get only big and strong enough to handle the exact amount of work they do during a normal days work and no bigger, even though they are “working out” and lifting heavy objects all day long.
Adding muscle is actually a very unnatural process. If we took natures course we’d all be small, slim, and calorie efficient. We wouldn’t be big muscular calorie guzzling bodybuilders. But if you are reading this then chances are you don’t want to be small, slim, and average (I know I don’t). We want to be bigger, stronger, and faster then the average Joe. Blame it on ego or whatever, but that’s all part of the bodybuilding game. We don’t want to settle for “being average”.
How do we consistently progress with our training?
The key is to follow a systematic training system that triggers the different anabolic responses within the body.
So let’s say you are following a particular workout program, chances are you’ll initially make good gains from it, but after a month or so your body will adapt and stop making progress from that program.
At this stage you need to provide a unique training stimulus with a new routine that targets different training variables in your workouts in order to start the whole stimulate, adapt, and grow process again and move your physique up to the next level of muscular development.
Now this all sounds simple enough, but most people are haphazard when it comes to changing up their routines. They may by fluke stumble upon a workout that targets the right training variables and provide the unique training stimulus needed for growth. But more often then not they’ll end up doing more of the same stuff they were doing before, maybe with some different exercises, etc. but they won’t really trigger the growth response that they need.
So rather then just spinning your wheels with the same workouts over and over again, or program hopping and getting hit and miss results that are very sporadic at best. You really need an ever evolving workout routine that changes each month and that targets the exact anabolic factors that you need to stimulate for continuous muscle growth.
You need a program that starts with the foundational principles and then builds on the previous training phase in a progressive fashion. Just like you wouldn’t expect a child to keep repeating grade 1 over and over again and get smarter. You can’t keep repeating the same basic workout over and over again and get bigger and stronger. You need systematic progression built into your workouts.
Good News For You…
Lucky for you there is such a program already in place and ready for you to follow right now! You see my good friend and fellow fitness trainer, Vince DelMonte, has put together a complete systematic training program that’s built around stimulating all 12 of the anabolic factors needed for muscle growth and it does so over a 12 month long training system.
Each month you’ll get a brand new workout program that builds upon the previous month’s training and ramps your gains up and up in a progressive fashion. You’ll no longer be left second guessing yourself and wondering if what you are doing is working out not. Instead you’ll have a proven training system for long term muscle gains. All you have to do is follow it.
The program is called the “Maximize Your Muscle Program” and until midnight April 8, 2010 you can get the complete first month of this killer training system for just $1 and take it for a test drive for yourself.

This looks like a legit program for only $1, but he is obviously banking on all the people who don’t realize they have to pay $70 the next month, or those people who forget to cancel.
Looks like a good deal though.

Lee, I am continuously impressed with how much you know about this stuff. But I have a question: how long is the program? In other words, how long do I have to keep on following the program before I can start seeing results?

This is a legit program and Vince makes it very clear that this is a monthly coaching program. The fact that you can get new workouts, DVD’s, CD’s, plus live coaching from a top trainer for just $69 per month is an incredible deal. Most trainers charge that or more for a single session, let alone a full months worth of coaching.

You can literally start seeing results within a couple weeks. First you’ll notice strength gains and improvements in your energy and work capacity. Then you’ll start to see the physical changes happening within your own body. I’d be willing to be that within 4-5 weeks you’ll start getting friends and family members commenting on the improvements you are making.

Lee, I’m pretty disappointed that I haven’t heard back from you regarding the custom program I signed up for. I’ve left several emails, phone calls, etc and I see you’ve got the $$ from my account. It’s been almost 3 weeks, the website said a 3-4 day turn around. I know you are busy with the upcoming competition, but what gives? At least let me know you got the request!

Hi Andrew,
I sent your program on March 30th and I’ve replied to every one of your e-mails. All I can say is check your junk mail folder because they must be getting filtered out as spam.
That often happens when sending diet and exercise related material because the word “diet” is a trigger word for spam filters. So you’ll need to go in a manually approve my e-mail address to make sure that you’ll get my e-mails in the future.
Anyway, I just re-sent your program again, this is the 3rd time I’ve sent it to you. I’ve even sent it from several different e-mail addresses so you should get a half dozen copies sent to your e-mail account. Hopefully, this time you’ll finally see it and open the e-mail.
all the best,
Lee
