After all a bodybuilder doesn&#8217;t become a 7X Mr. Olympia with lagging body parts, but his biceps were world class, even by today&#8217;s standards.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve been a huge Arnold fan ever since I was a kid. It was seeing him in the movie &#8220;Conan The Barbarian&#8221; that inspired me to start working out and building muscles in the first place \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.blastyourbiceps.org\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11372\" src=\"https:\/\/leehayward.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/conan-barbarian.jpg\" alt=\"Arnold in Conan The Barbarian\" width=\"600\" height=\"406\" srcset=\"https:\/\/leehayward.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/conan-barbarian.jpg 600w, https:\/\/leehayward.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/conan-barbarian-300x203.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a>Arnold in Conan The Barbarian.<\/center><\/p>\n<p>One of the training techniques that Arnold used to build his massive arms was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.blastyourbiceps.org\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Positions Of Flexion<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This basically means training each muscle group through different ranges of motion; starting with a compound <strong>mid-range exercise<\/strong>, then moving to an exercise that works the muscle in the <strong>stretched position<\/strong>, and then finishing off with an exercise that works the muscle in the <strong>fully contracted position<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Hands down this is one of the most effective ways that you can train a muscle group for maximum growth stimulation.<\/p>\n<p>Here is a typical bicep workout that Arnold Schwarzenegger used to do:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Barbell Curls (Mid Range Power Move)<\/strong><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-12475\" src=\"https:\/\/leehayward.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/lee-hayward-bicep-curl.jpg\" alt=\"Lee Hayward Bicep Barbell Curls\" width=\"800\" height=\"435\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This is a mid-range exercise as most of the tension is on the biceps in the middle of the rep.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Incline Dumbbell Curls (Fully Stretched Move)<\/strong><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-12476\" src=\"https:\/\/leehayward.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/lee-hayward-incline-dumbbell-curls.jpg\" alt=\"Lee Hayward Incline Dumbbell Curls\" width=\"800\" height=\"394\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This is a stretched position exercise as most of the tension is on the biceps at the bottom or fully stretched position.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Concentration Curls (Peak Contraction Move)<\/strong><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-12477\" src=\"https:\/\/leehayward.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Dumbbell-Concentration-Curls-picture.jpg\" alt=\"Lee Hayward Dumbbell Concentration Curls\" width=\"800\" height=\"380\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/leehayward.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Lee-Hayward-Bicep-Workout.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-12478\" src=\"https:\/\/leehayward.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Lee-Hayward-Bicep-Workout.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"321\" \/><\/a>This is a peak contraction exercise as most of the tension is on the biceps at the top of the rep when the biceps are fully contracted.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bicep Workout, Sets, &amp; Reps<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Arnold used to train his biceps 2 times per week with 4 sets of 8-10 reps per exercise.
