Supplements To Help Relieve Joint Pain Naturally

Do you have problems with sore joints?

Do you sometimes find your elbows, knees, shoulders, hips, etc. hurt?

Do these aches and pains limit your strength and mobility?

Overtime weight training can put a lot of stress on your joints, tendons, and ligaments. This can really slow down your workouts and progress in the gym.

The joints most often affected are the weight bearing joints, such as the knees, elbows, hips, and the small joints of the hands. The pain in these joints is the result of cartilage damage, the main reason being the cumulative effects of years of use of the joints compounded by the inability to restore joint cartilage.

The current treatment for joint pain includes the use of aspirin and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, such as ibuprofen. These medications provide only the short term benefits in the relief of both the pain and inflammation.

There is a natural substance found in high concentrations in our joint structures known as Glucosamine. Numerous double blind studies have shown that Glucosamine produces better results in the treatment of joint pain than traditional drug therapy.

The main function of glucosamine is to stimulate the manufacture of substances necessary for joint repair. Glucosamine is a well tolerated, natural treatment. There have been no reported adverse reactions. In rare instances, some gastric discomfort was reported but was easily relieved by taking the supplement with food.

For the past few years I have been supplementing with a Glucosamine, Chondroitin & MSM supplement and I find that it works great! I used to frequently have pain in my elbows, knees, and shoulders. But after a couple weeks of taking the supplement I haven’t had any problems with joint pain. And I have been able to train harder and lift heavier weights. I highly recommend it for anyone who suffers from joint pain.

Glucosamine Supplements

You can usually find Glucosamine, Chondroitin and MSM supplements at most drug stores & supplement stores. These supplements are quite common, they’re not that expensive, and they work! I personally take them daily as part of my basic supplement routine and I’d recommend them to anyone who deals with joint pain as well.

I’ve seen improvements just from taking a Glucosamine, Chondroitin and MSM combo supplement. They are very popular in North America and a lot of people use them, not just athletes but folks who suffer from arthritis and other forms of joint pain as well.

I’m not sure if it’s available in Sweden or not, but asking around at your local supplement stores and at the local gym should give you an answer.

Yes I agree with the statement that says weight bearing joints has high risk of getting pain. Then the question arising is the people who works in heavy loaded works like farmer, goods ship or a gymer etc. are having more risk of getting arthritis or joint pain. How they could keep themselves in safe zone?

My wrists hurt daily even if I didnt workout that day. It prevents me from doing bicept curls so I use hammar curls instead. My wrists cant take the strain from the weight so I try to find other ways of working the same muscle. Its working to a point but my wrists still hurt & take days of being very gentle, non workout days for them to feel better. Also having a problem with my ankles hurting. Cardio kills them & my ankles hurt seriously, usually from running. No I dont run with weights or anything but they still really hurt bad. Im not sure what I can do for it? Im taking 1,000 Glucosamine Sulfate 2 KCI (whatever that means?) & I take 800-1,000 ibuprofen depending on how much I think I need to survive doing a workout. Ive also been taking hair/skin/nails vitamins with regular multi vitamins. At one time I was taking additional calcium but Im not now. What should I do to relieve the pain on a more perminant basis? Should I take more Glucosamine?

  • Jennifer,

A lot of times joint pain is caused from doing too much, too soon, and not giving your body enough time to rest and recover. However, if you are experiencing on going joint pain in your wrists, ankles, etc. it would be a good idea to get it checked out by your doctor to make sure there isn’t some underlining issue.
