Bicep Blasting MP3 Audio Replay
For our July 15 Total Fitness Bodybuilding Talk Show I was joined by FAME Fitness Model Competitor and Author of The “Bones To Buff” program, Joey Vaillancourt.
Joey and I did a tele-conference call and discussed a lot of the unique arm specialization workouts that I have covered in my “Blast Your Biceps” program as well as some overall bodybuilding and mass building training techniques in general.

I have to apologize in advance for the fact that the audio is a little low, so you’ll have to crank up your speakers to hear it. Also at the end of the call when we un-muted the lines for live Q and A there was some back ground static noise. But 90% of the call came through clear. We discussed some killer training tips on this call. Heck, I was even impressed with all the valuable stuff we covered here. It’s a must listen to if you are struggling with building up your skinny arms or any lagging muscle group for that matter. |

I have a question for you…
What’s the one muscle group that gets more attention then any other and instantly let’s everyone know whether you are strong and muscular – or weak and puny?
If you said “The Arms” then you are right on the money. What makes having big muscular arms so desirable? Well, it could be because the arms are the most visible of any muscle group.
Whenever you wear a short sleeve shirt your arms are on display and people are looking. It’s human nature, when we see naked skin we just can’t help but stop and notice.
First impressions say a lot and people are unconsciously judging you by your arm development:
- If your arms are “Skinny” you look small and weak.
- If your arms are “Flabby” you look fat and out of shape.
- In either case you WON’T get the respect you deserve!
Just pay attention to this the next time you are out in public and see someone wearing a short sleeve T-shirt. I can almost guarantee that your eyes will naturally be drawn to their arms and you’ll make a split second first impression of that person based on the size and shape of their arms.
Big arms stand out and let the world know that you workout and that you are in shape. And since you can’t go out and buy yourself a great set of muscular arms, it also tells people that you’ve busted your butt and worked hard to get them. There’s a lot of respect and satisfaction that goes along with that.
And that’s why I created the “Blast Your Biceps” Mass Building Arm Specialization Program at: http://www.BlastYourBiceps.com
This is a complete muscle building training system that will allow you to gain as much as 2 inches of solid muscular mass to your upper arms in as little as 8 weeks!
|
Picture what it would be like to hit the beach or go to a pool party and have people stop and do a double take because you are in such good shape, and they can visually see the raw muscle definition in your arms.
People will react to you differently and give you a whole new level of attention and respect when you have a big strong muscular physique, compared to the average scrawny body that everyone is used to seeing these days. I know this for a fact because I’ve been in both situations, and trust me having the big ripped muscular physique is WAY MORE FUN ! |
|
In fact, I want to help you to get started building your own set of muscular guns RIGHT NOW and that’s why I’m going to GIVE YOU a Free Trial of my “Blast Your Biceps” e-Book!
I’ve put together a sample trial for you that covers:
–> How The Blast Your Biceps Program Came To Be
–> The Truth About Genetics For Building Big Arms
–> Why Skinny Guys Need To Play By A Different Set Of Rules
–> S.N.A.S. “Spaghetti Noodle Arm Syndrome”
This will allow you to check out the program and see what it’s all about. Then you can make an educated decision as to whether or not you want to go ahead and try the full Bicep Blasting Mass Building training system for yourself!

Taking a break from the gym…
I just got back home from a week long trip to Niagara Falls with my girlfriend Patricia.

The reason for our trip was to attend Vince & Flavia DelMonte’s wedding.
(Note: Vince is the author of the No-Nonsense Muscle Building Program.)
But of course we had to make a mini-vacation out of it as well and take in all the sights of Niagara Falls. It was our first time there and we absolutely loved it!
And while we were there we never once stepped foot inside of a gym!
Now I know some hardcore fitness fanatics out there would freak out at the thought of going a week without working out. But by cycling your training, and even taking the occasional break away from the gym will help you make better gains and enjoy the process even more over the long run.
=======================
How To Cycle Your Workouts For Long Term Muscle Growth
Working out and keeping fit is one the best things you can do for yourself. When your body is in shape you feel 100% better about yourself both physically and mentally. You will have a lot more energy, it’s a fantastic stress relief, and the list of benefits just goes on and on.
However, despite all the benefits of working out you CAN get “too much” of a good thing. Some people are so obsessed with working out and bragging about how they “Workout Everyday” that it takes over their life.
I know people who actually get stressed out if something comes up and they can’t workout for a few days. They fear that they’ll become fat out of shape slobs and have their muscles melt away just like ice cream on a hot summers day.
I’ve even gotten e-mails from guys who were afraid to go on a family vacation because it would take away from their gym time. In my opinion that’s going too far and borderline obsession. We workout and keep fit to enhance our life, not to have working out consume our life.
The Different Phases Of Training
|
I remember several years back reading an article written by 3 time Mr. Olympia, Frank Zane. In the article Frank was talking about how no body can grow and make gains nonstop forever. He went on to say that there will always be phases where you are growing, other phases where you are just maintaining, and even phases where you just need to take a break and rest.
He compared bodybuilding training to the seasons in nature. The spring and summer is the peak growing phase. The fall is the harvesting phase (reap the rewards), and the winter is the rest phase. Your workouts need to go through similar types of phases. No body can push it 100% and grow nonstop 365 days a year. And if you try to force it, your body will fight back and you’ll experience things like overtraining, plateaus, and maybe even get sick or injured. |
|
With my own training I don’t always have things planned out and structured perfectly, but I do cycle though different types of training phases.
For example;
During the months leading up to a bodybuilding competition I’m in serious training and will push myself 100% and be very consistent with my training, nutrition, etc. This is when I’ll put on my blinders so to speak and have tunnel vision focusing my full attention on achieving my training goals. During this phase I’ll make my best progress.
However, right after the contest I’ll usually take a few days or even a week off from working out completely to give my mind and body a rest. Then when I resume training I’ll just take it easy in the gym, mainly doing active recovery type of training. This down time is a much welcomed break especially after months of strict dieting and hard training.
After about a month of taking it easy I’ll usually start to get into a more serious off season “power bodybuilding” workouts. During this phase I’ll focus my training around basic hardcore workouts in effort to gain muscular bodyweight and size.
For most bodybuilders this off season “power-bodybuilding” phase is where they’ll spend most of their training time. But even within this phase there will be ups and downs in your training. Again, no one can give it 100% and make nonstop gains forever.
| Most advanced guys will find that they can push it hard and make really good gains for about 6 weeks or so. After that they’ll start to plateau. When this happens the best thing to do is switch to less intense workout program for a couple weeks, also known as a “cruising phase”. This will allow your mind and body to get some active recovery before you crank up the intensity again for another 6 week hardcore training phase. |
|
After a few months of consistent training I even recommend taking a full week off from the gym entirely. Just like I did with my mini-vacation to Niagara Falls. This will benefit you both mentally and physically.
First off, it will allow your body to fully rest and recover from your workouts. Any little aches and pains that you may have from training usually ease up within a week off from the gym. It also gives your mind a break and will make you hungry to train even harder when you resume working out again.
In my case I usually travel away from home 3-4 times each year (usually for a week at a time) and I’ll use these trips as my mini-breaks away from the gym. But even if you don’t travel that often, you can purposely schedule a week off from the gym every few months.
I like to compare it to how our school system is scheduled. School starts off fresh each September, then after a few months they have a winter break (usually over the Christmas holidays), after another few months they have spring break, and then they finish off with a summer vacation before repeating the entire cycle again. No body would ever want to go though 52 weeks a year of nonstop schooling without a break. And the same applies to your workouts as well.
Even though it may seem like you’ll lose muscle from taking a break, trust me you won’t. Muscle isn’t that fragile, it isn’t going to disappear if you take a week away from the gym. In fact that mini-break maybe just the thing you need to rejuvenate your body, renew your training motivation, and help take your physique to the next level of muscular development.
|
In my latest e-book “Blast Your Biceps” I cover this stuff in more detail and actually structure the training phases of the program to include mini-breaks away from the gym to help you fully maximize your overall muscle gains.
I highly recommend you pick up and copy, if you haven’t already done so. Even though “Blast Your Biceps” is an “arm specialization” program, it still focuses on building size and strength throughout your entire body. One of the key principles that I teach here is that in order to build bigger arms, you have to get bigger and stronger all over. And that’s exactly what this program will help you do. |

Justin Realizes There’s No Magic Bullet!

I will be a high school senior in the fall, and my ultimate goa
l is to win the 2011 state weightlifting championship of Florida.
This year, I have qualified for the 2010 championship, and
once I received the news, I googled the fastest way to obtain a
bigger bench press.Fortunately, the first link that popped up was that letter that
Mike Westerdal shares with the public, advertising the Critical
Bench Program. Once I saw it was for a ten week period, I
decided to start the program the week following the state finals.
I searched for other solutions, only to realize that time was a
critical component in building a bigger bench. During the
4-5 weeks I had left to prepare, I did what I could, following the
tips and guidelines outlined in the 50 tips to gaining a bigger
bench e-book.Even though I worked hard, ate right, and followed these
guidelines, I came in last place. Weightlifting is my life, and
I have a dedication passion for this sport.Wanna know why I fell short, it is because I had been committed
to a muscle building magazine, and fell victim to its false
information and biased principles and concepts. I have wasted
my time training by their false guidlines for 3 years, and went
NOWHERE. I am still hitting my head with a barbell to this day.I began the critical bench program the Wednesday after states,
preparing for the next state final matchup. I am just completing
week 7, and I have actually gained strength with this program.I have never seen any fast paced progress such as this. I bench
pressed 315 at states, and benching 350 pounds now! That is
unbelievable, and it is because I have found a source of reliable
information pertaining to this sport. The Critical Bench Program
shares the unvarnished truth with the public.I am continually searching for other important information and tips
out there on the web that will help me in my goal and mission.
I am considering becoming a personal trainer, as that will expose
me to alot of information of the sport I love. I have a low income,
minimum wage job, and can barely keep up with my diet and
supps as it is.If I am one of the chosen 5 to receive the Critical Bench 2.0 for
free, great. If not, I will buy it ASAP. I will continue to work hard,
push myself to failure on every set, and continue to educate myself
with this sport that my passion lies in. If I continue to work hard,
and follow what I’ve learned, I am sure that 365 days is enough
time to win the state finals of my senior year! Thank you for the
information that you have shared with me so far.

Cancer Survivor Trains For National Record!

Lee & Mike,
Building a big, strong, muscular body is so important to me and
I NEED a ‘Proven Mass and Power Building Training System’ to
help me achieve my fitness goals Right Now!I’m a 59-year young cancer survivor. Two years ago I was diagnosed
with throat cancer. After the first surgery I was told I could not lift
heavy weights anymore because the nerve was removed that controlled
my left TRAP. It was removed because it ran through one of the lymph
nods that had cancer. Therefore no left TRAP.After Chemo and Radiation and losing 30 LBS, I found myself back
at the gym trying to prove everybody wrong. I gained body weight,
but not the strength I wanted.I found “Blast Your Bench” online and after using this program I
increased my bench by 30 lbs while losing 11 lbs. body weight.
I went from 21% body fat down to 13.5%This May I tied the NJ State record for Bench Press for my age
and weight with the WNPF.I’m using the “Blast Your Bench” program now for my next meet
on June 27, which I hope to set the NJ record for bench press for
my age and weight. If I’m successful I will go the world meet in
Nov. in Atlantic City, NJ.I need this program to get to the next level. I would like to set the
national record for bench press for my age and weight.Credit given where Credit is Due!!!
Thanks for all your emails and videos!

Beginner Gains 100 Pounds On Bench And Loses Fat!
Jonathan Lezondra: posted on June 11, 2010
I’m 43 years old and I started “serious” weight lifting just this past
July 2009. In the past I have been lifting weights just for the heck of
it, no serious goals and my objectives were pretty superficial.I would make a go at it then stop totally all together. This was in my
younger years. Now that I’ve gotten older and wiser, the “need” to
become more healthy was becoming apparent. Before I embarked on a
serious determination to be physically fit, I did a lot a research and the
idea of weight lifting always hovered my mind. In one of these researches,
I came across LeeHayward.com and found insights that were pretty down
to earth, real world scenarios where a common individual like me could
actually follow your advice.I started lifting weights and at my age, I have made great progress
that has made me appreciate my body and have a positive outlook
on a healthy life. Ever since becoming a “follower” of your site, I have
learned valuable tips and advises that I have incorporated in my
workouts. From a starting bench press of just lifting the bar for about a month,
I have progressed to a lifting weight right now of about 140lbs and
I can 1-rep max 150lbs. Not much for a beginner like me who’s only
been lifting for a year but I am very proud of the achievements
I have made over the past year. Its been over a year and I have not looked back. And the benefits
I am reaping right now from a slow struggle to a maintained attitude
has boosted my self confidence in terms of how I look and how I feel.I have gotten stronger, my body has taken shape and form that I have
not imagined of ever having. Although I am far from having a ripped form
like you do Lee, I know with a lot of hard work and enthusiasm, I would
get to where I would like to be. In one year of lifting weights, I have
lost weight (around 25lbs) and I have gained some form in my chest,
biceps, triceps and shoulders.People at work noticed this physiological change, my family noticed
the change. And every time I hear them say something is music to my ears.Although competing is the farthest thing from my mind, my first and
foremost objective in building a strong, muscular body is to be healthy.
And then all other things follow. Thanks so much for your tips and advises. It has made me appreciate
my body more than I can ever imagine. Weight lifting has provided me
with a drive to strive for more.Thank you so much.

strong body that I want. I may even be able to take this to the next
limit and start training for paralympic type sports. My main goal in all of this is just to be as healthy as I can be for

impact, and I can only properly do that with the right tools.
I’ve watched and read a lot of Lee’s posts, watched him online,
